This study focuses on evaluating the influence of different proportions (5%, 10% and 15%) of extreme pressure (EP) additive in vegetable oil based cutting fluids (canola, coconut and sesame oils) during turning of AISI 1040 steel. The process parameters considered in this work are type of cutting fluid, proportion of EP additive, cutting speed and feed rate. The influence of these process parameters on performance characteristics viz. cutting force (Fc), cutting tool temperature (T), tool flank wear (Vb) and surface roughness (Ra) is investigated by signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) and analysis of variance (ANOVA) from the experimental data developed by using L27 orthogonal array. The results indicated that cutting fluid has significant influence on tool flank wear and surface roughness whereas, cutting speed has significant influence on cutting force and cutting tool temperature. Keywords

Coolants are used during machining for variety of reasons such as improving tool life, reducing workpiece thermal deformation and surface roughness. Conventional cutting fluids are non-biodegradable which results in environmental pollution and danger to human health, hence there is a growing demand for biodegradable material thus opening an avenue for vegetable oils as an alternative to conventional cutting fluids. In this context, the present work focuses on environmental friendly cutting fluids such as vegetable oil based cutting fluids (VBCFs). The objective of present work is to determine the influence of canola based cutting fluid with Sulphur based extreme pressure (EP) additive on machining performance. Forces, cutting tool temperature and surface roughness are measured during turning of AISI 1040 steel with CNMG120408 NC3220 coated carbide tool. Machining performance of canola based cutting fluid with different proportions of EP additive in its mixture is analysed. Keywords

Progesterone is important for initiation and maintenance of pregnancy (hormone of pregnancy). The discovery that in the absence of progesterone, pregnancy cannot be initiated or maintained provided the basis for a massive effort of synthesis of antiprogestin molecules to develop emergency contraceptive pills. By the consequences, till date few progesterone antagonists (antiprogestins) have been synthesized which bind to and block the progesterone receptor. However, none of the antiprogestins are “pure” antiprogestins, having marked antiglucocorticoid properties as well, especially at higher doses. Thus the search for the “ideal” progesterone antagonist continues. The main objective of the present work is to evaluate antiprogestin activity of progesterone analogue, 14 β- hydroxy progesterone. A pregnane glycoside, carumbelloside-I (3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-beta-Dglucopyranosyl- 3beta,14beta-dihydroxypregn-5-en-20-one) was isolated from the n-butanolic extract of Caralluma umbellata (Asclepiadaceae) and was modified to a structural analog of progesterone, 14 β- Hydroxy progesterone (14β- OHP) in just two simple steps. Anti-implantation and abortifacient activities of the compound have been studied to evaluate its antiprogestin activity. To study the anti-implantation effect, pregnant wistar strain albino rats were administered with 14β-OHP (daily dose of 5 mg/Kg body weight) intraperitoneally from the day 1to day 7 of pregnancy. On day 10, laparotomy was performed under light ether anesthesia. The uteri were examined to determine the number of implantation sites. The abdomens were sutured and the animals were allowed to go on term. The number of young born at term was also recorded. The abortifacient activity was studied in another group of pregnant rats. The animals were treated with 14β- OHP (5 mg/Kg body weight daily) intraperitoneally from day 8 to 12of pregnancy. They were sacrificed on day 19 of pregnancy. Both horns of uterus were observed for the number of live fetuses. The compound showed about 44.23% anti-implantation and 62% of abortifacient effect at their corresponding dose levels tested. The results indicated the antiprogestin activity of 14 β- hydroxy progesterone in albino rats. Keywords

The main objective of the paper on Radial Ball Bearing (RBB) to lessen the warmth age on bearing surface and bolster spiral and hub stacking and it can stay away from the warmth age by grating, the wear and force misfortunes brought about by the relative movement between the metal materials. Warmth is produced by the heap position in the bearing framework, which cause the temperature expanding inside the bearing surface and expanded temperatures may offer ascent to untimely disappointments. Along these lines, it is essential to figure the temperature in the orientation because of burden position. Here a summed up model is created utilizing Dimensional Analysis of Matrix Method (DAMM) to assess dimensionless connection between’s the reaction and result parameters for the appraisal of warmth age on the bearing surface on a created test rig. Reaction Surface Methodology (RSM) is utilized for the experimentation and investigate the reliance of different factors on the warmth age of these course. A numerical investigation created in the examination demonstrated the viability of DAMM model along side the adequacy of burden position for location of warmth age on spiral metal roller surface. Keywords
