The research aims to compare monolingual and bilingual in underachievement. Sample included 1048 Syrian children drawn from nine-grade of government schools. The Raven's Progressive Matrix and achievement scores of the previous fmal examination were used to identify underachievers. The researcher identified 125 underachievers (46 monolingual and 79 bilingual) and 131 overachievers (73 monolinguals and 58 bilingual). Z-test was used to fmd out significant of difference between the monolingual and bilingual. Significant difference was found between monolingual and bilingual in the incidence of underachievement. - Receptive and Expressive Language in Language Delayed Syrian Bilingual Children: A Comparative Study of Children who Enrolled in Kindergarten and their Peers who Did not Enroll in Kindergarten

The research aims to compare language-delayed children enrolled in kindergarten and their peers who did not enrol in kindergarten in receptive and expressive language development. Descriptive approach used; Sample included 376 Syrian bilingual children drawn from first-grade of the 6 years primary school stage. "The receptive and expressive language test " prepared by the researcher " was used to identify language delayed children and After diagnosis the researcher selected 73 children who were suffering from language delay. t-test was used to find out significance of difference between the groups.No significant differences in receptive language between children who were enrolled in kindergarten and their peers who did not enrol in the kindergarten. Significant differences were found in expressive language. No significant difference was obtained between males and females in receptive and expressive language.Keywords

The present quantitative study was conducted to explore the youth knowledge and attitude about HIV/AIDS in District Layyah, Pakistan. The universe of the present study consisted of the all the youth able to reproduce. 150 people were selected from the different institutes of layyah through simple random sampling. Description of the data and analysis was done through SPSS. It was concluded that the high level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS leads to the negative attitude toward HIV/AIDS, university students who have attended any program regarding the awareness about HIV/AIDS, they were observed that they have low level of negative attitude about HIV infected people. The health programs about HIV can play a vital role for the changing of negative attitude of youth regarding HIV/ADIS. It was recommended that to improve the knowledge of the youth by HIV/AIDS awareness program, parents and teachers can change the negative attitude of the youth through awareness.
