The Great Indian Bustard (Ardeolis nigriceps) (Vigors) is an endemic species to the Indian Sub-continent. In Maharashtra it confines itself mainly to the area of sholapur and Ahmednagar districts. The Sehima-Dichanthium type of grassland of the area requires constant management for ecological reasons and for the conservation of this rare bird along with the conservation of other biodiversity of the area. The management of grassland wi1l reduce the man-wildlife conflict also to certain extent. The grassland of Great Indian Bustard area can be managed for betterment with the right selection of locally acclimatized suitable grass and fodder tree species and with the right selection of management practice inputs.- Prophylactic Antibiotics in Prevention of Wound - Infection Following Gastrointestinal Surgery
