This case report describes the treatment of a tooth with necrotic pulp and open apex (maxillary left central incisor). In this conventional multiple-visit apexification with calcium hydroxide was replaced with a simple two step apical barrier techinique using MTA. The treatment involved mild debridement of the dentinal walls with K files and repeated irrigation with sodium hypochlorite solution, followed by calcium hydroxide dressing for 1 week and lastly creating an apical plug with MTA. The objective of the treatment was to provide an apical stop for the ischolar_main canal filling material. Keywords

In this era of survival, newspaper presses needed to be quality oriented and establishment of quality management system is very essential to satisfy the customers and to face the competition in market among various presses. This paper highlights the procedures and measures of quality management, quality control parameters, ISO standard and the issues that can impact the implementation, thereby increasing the awareness of quality through quality management system in web-fed publication presses. The work was carried out at HT Media Ltd., Mohali and data was collected on daily basis. The results clearly indicated that quality management system is most suitable for enhancing quality need to taken into consideration by newspaper presses. Keywords

A simple, rapid, specific, accurate and economic reverse phase HPLC method was developed and validated for determination of acetic acid content in hard gelatin capsule shells from animal origin. Acetic acid is a commonly used excipient in gelatin processing technology. Being a Class III solvent as per ICH guidelines it has a permissible daily intake limit. A reverse-phase HPLC method was developed on a 250 mm×4.0 mm, 5 μm L1 column using UV detection at 205 nm. An ortho-phosphoric acid buffer pH 3.8 and Methanol were used as gradient components for elution. The proposed method was able to analyze acetic acid content directly without any reaction and was simple and sensitive. Keywords

Plates with the variable thickness have great importance in the modern technology. A simple model is presented to study the effect of thermal gradient on vibration of non-homogenous square plate with varying thickness in x and y directions. Rayleigh-Ritz technique has been applied to obtain corresponding equation of frequency. The natural frequency for the first two modes of vibration is calculated for different values of thermal gradient, taper constant and non-homogenous constant at various points. All the results are presented in graphical and tabular form. Keywords
