Background: Hysterectomy is a surgical procedure performed in cases where uterus is surgically excised partially or completely. Although various treatments are available conservatively in the form of medicines and surgical conservation but still then hysterectomy is the commonest of procedure performed by gynaecologist globally. Most of the research in developing country especially in India is focused on clinical outcomes and a limited analysis of hysterectomy prevalence. The physiotherapy referral is also essential in such cases but the most of time the patients are not referred for physiotherapy. Hence the current study was undertaken.Aim: "To know the prevalence of hysterectomy in Lata Mangeshkar Hospital during Nov- 2011 - Nov-2012." "To know referral about physiotherapy in patient who have undergone hysterectomy in hospital during Nov-2011 - Nov-2012."
Materials and Method: Cross sectional survey was undertaken in rural hospital in Nagpur, Maharashtra state, India from patients' records during Nov- 2011 to Nov-2012. Age, histopathology, type of surgery, post operative stay in hospital and referral for physiotherapy among patients, was collected.
Result: The prevalence rate of hysterectomy is 35.5% and referral for physiotherapy is 71.31%.Most of individual who underwent for hysterectomy was suffering from genital prolaps. It is of concern that the fertile age group i.e. 21-30 years also had undergone for hysterectomy.
Conclusion: Hysterectomy is still widely performed procedure even in rural hospital in Nagpur. And about 71.31% of their cases were referred for post operative physiotherapy.

Background: Obesity is a risk factor of many diseases and, this is one of the leading problems in Indian women because of sedentary life style and faulty eating habits. Obesity is abnormal growth of the adipose tissues due to enlargement of fat cell size or an increase in fat cell number or a combination of both. Obesity is caused by increased intake of energy dense foods that are high in fats, salts and sugar but low in vitamins, minerals and other micronutrients. Obese individuals tend to get exhausted on minimal activity so the study was under taken to know dyspnea on exertion in obese women.
Aim: "To investigate whether dyspnea is present in obese individuals." "To investigate whether dyspnea is increased on exercise training in obese women.'
Materials & Method: Experimental case control study on 3 different groups was carried out by exercising on static cycle&were compared for PFT values&Borg's scale
Result: FVC values, FEV1 values, Borg's scale (rate of perceived exertion) was analyzed in all three groups. The values were less for obese followed by overweight followed by normal for all parameters. The FEV1 (p<0.001), FVC (p<0.001), Borg's scale (p<0.0001) values were statistically significant when normal and obese were compared.
Conclusion: Healthy obese women have reduced lung function (FEV1 and FVC)&increased rate of perceived exertion. This may point towards deconditioning effect of the lungs. Such individuals can also be a part of pulmonary rehabilitation program.
