Background
This clinical trial was carried out to find the prevalence of flat feet in 5-15 years children and to compare the effect of valgus insole on the pain, gait parameters and PCI in flat feet children.
Subjects
80 children with flat feet were included in the study.
Method
All subjects were randomly assigned to 1 of 2 groups after screening for flat feet- an experimental group which received a valgus insole and a control group without a valgus insole. Both groups were assessed for pain, gait parameters and physiological cost index of walking before and after the use of valgus insole. The primary outcome measures were pain and PCI with gait parameters being secondary outcome measure.
Results
The characteristics of and outcome measurements for the subjects in the 2 groups were similar at baseline. Significant improvements were found in pain and PCI in experimental group with no significant change in gait parameters.
Conclusion
The result of this study support the use of valgus insole in children with flat feet as it helps reduce the pain and improve PCI.

Objective
To find the correlation between kyphotic index and abdominal muscle strength and endurance using manual muscle testing and pressure biofeedback methods, in kyphotic individuals and individuals with ideal posture.
Methodology
Study design: Non interventional analytical, Study location: Physiotherapy OPD of tertiary care hospital, Study duration: 1year,
Subjects sampled: Sample size - 60, Age group: 20 to 50 Yrs. Subjects were screened using plumb line assessment method in lateral view and divided into Group A: - 30 individuals with postural thoracic kyphosis, Group B: - 30 individuals with ideal plumb line alignment.
Assessment Parameters -
Posture: a) Plumb line assessment b) Kyphotic index using Flexi curve - Manual muscle testing: - Lacote's method (Grades 1 to 5) - Prone pressure biofeedback for strength and endurance - Posterior pelvic tilt using pressure cuff, for strength and endurance - Number of curl ups in one minute.
Results
Data was statistically analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient. The results showed no statistically significant correlation between strength of abdominal muscles and kyphotic index (r = 0.05 to 0.27) and endurance of abdominal muscles and kyphotic index (r = 0.03 to 0.26) in either of the groups.
Conclusion
With increase in postural thoracic kyphosis, there is no significant difference in the strength and endurance of rectus abdominis, obliques internus and externus, transversus abdominis muscles.

Background: By 2050, India’s 60 and older population is expected to encompass 323 million people, a number greater than the total US population in 2012
Osteoarthritis is the growing cause of social and economic burden to our aging society. It has been seen psychosocial status of patient with osteoarthritis have an impact on pain, functional ability and quality of life. The emotional status of osteoarthritis patient can have poor outcome on his/her Quality of life making the person disabled in their activities and functions.
The majority of osteoarthritis pharmacological and rehabilitation treatments are geared toward alleviating pain due to disease severity in the joint; therefore, it appears important to optimize treatment for people who have pain beyond peripheral sources.
Objective: This study will help to understand the association of emotional status, pain, radiographic severity and quality of life in patients with knee osteoarthritis so that a more holistic approach will be developed towards osteoarthritis.
Methodology: Study design was a cross sectional observational study. 100 subjects were assessed in the study. Participants were included in the study after screening for inclusion and exclusion criteria. All subjects were evaluated according to the assessment proforma for the following Pain on Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Positive And Negative Affect Scale and Knee function on Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS).
Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest an association between emotional status and pain, emotional status and quality of life. But no association is seen between emotional status and Kellgren Lawrence Scale.
