Abstract
Purpose: To review different method for management of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD), different indications, advantages and recent modifications for each technique. Summary: Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) is caused by retinal break which held open by vitreoretinal traction and causes accumulation of liquefied vitreous under the neurosensory retina separating it from the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE). There are three lines for surgical management of RRD; pneumatic retinopexy, scleral buckling and pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with different new modifications aiming for easier surgeries and better results.
