Introduction: Leukemia is the most popular malignant neoplasm in childhood, that they are about 41% of children's cancer in younger than 15 years old (ALL is about 70% among them) (12). Signs ,clinical tests and response to treatment are different in kinds with leukemia. Direct etiology of leukemia is unknown in many case of ALL, but genetic and environmental factors are discussed in children's leukemia (7). Because of complex pathophysiology in leukemia and long treatments and follow up in it, knowledge of etiology and prevention of leukemia is very important.
Objective: Assessment of mother's educational needs about etiology of children's leukemia.
Materials and Method: In cross-sectional study 300 mothers with child younger than 5 years old selected with simple accidental method of health centers in Borujerd. Data analyzed with t and chi square tests (with p<0.05).
Results: Results showed that most of mothers had moderate or weak knowledge, only 31.33% of mothers had appropriate knowledge in etiology of leukemia. Between educational level and mother's knowledge rate about etiology of leukemia was direct and meaningful communication (p<0.0001).Mothers with 1 or 2 child had more knowledge than mothers with 3 or more child (p<0.04).Mothers younger than 35 years old had more knowledge than mothers in 35 or more (p<0.0001).
Conclusion: Educational programs about etiology of leukemia are essential for mothers (and they need to be familiar with leukemia and its side effects and treatments, etc) in order to increase their appropriate knowledge in this case.

Introduction: The relationship between weight and health, is a complex process. About 31% of people between 20 and 79 years are obese (6), but body fat distribution is important , so that fat excess in the abdomen, increase the risk of type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Men with waist more than 102cm and women with waist more than 85cm or those with BMI = 35 or higher (even without identity waist), are in health risk (1). Factors such as tobacco misuse ,increasing LDL, decreasing HDL, reducing the daily activities and positive family history ... with obesity, increase the risk of diseases (7). Increasing knowledge of people about these risk factors and avoid them, can reduce the risk of diseases - type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease - thus it 's be effective to increasing the useful life of people.
Objective: The purpose of this study was investigation of people 's knowledge about complications of obesity and influence of training booklet in their awareness. Also in this study, people 's comments were collected about increasing educational effects of training booklet.
Materials and Method: This quasi-experimental study was done, in health centers of Boroujerd, 2009 . In this study, 66 couples referred to health centers were selected by random sampling. Criteria for entering the study for couples, was having high BMI (more than 27) or abdominal obesity, data collected by questionnaires in two stages (before and after intervention) , and were analyzed by SPSS13 software.
Results: In this study, mean age was 38.8 years (with SD=10.7).The results showed that before education, awareness about the complications of obesity in people was low and 43.9% of people wasn't familiar with the complications of obesity and other people had low to moderate awareness.38% of people were not aware of the causes of obesity and about 58.5% of people were aware of causes of obesity, but were not informed how to control the factors. After studying of educational booklet, 69.7% to 77.3% of people had high to very high Knowledge about the complications and the causes of obesity and its risk factors and how to prevent obesity and its complications. In general 97% , were recommended the study of booklet to others.
Conclusion: With importance to prevalence of obesity and its role in increase dangerous diseases such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, the appropriate and accessible educational tools is essential to raise awareness of people.

Introduction: Measles is a highly contagious disease (1) and it's endemic in the most parts of the world, but its prevalence has declined in the result of vaccination programs. The disease is spread by respiratory secretions and it is contagious 7-10 days after exposure to 5 days after rash's appearance (2),(3). Complications of measles include pneumonia, otitis media and encephalitis that can be created several years after acute infection of measles (1).
Aim: The aim of this study was investigation of parental awareness about measles in order to develop appropriate training programs for parents and increase their awareness and prevention of complications of measles. Materials and
Method: Total units were 562 parents with children in 6 months to 3 years referred to community health centers of Borujerd, they were selected through cluster randomly method, they were measured based on a questionnaire that collects information about the knowledge of parents (about measles disease, symptoms, complications, diagnosis, treatment and prevention), and data were analyzed by SPSS16.
Results: Mean knowledge score for men was 23.45±9.0 and for women was 24.14±7.8 (p>0.05). But average knowledge score in parents with children with a history of measles infection was higher compared with other parents (p=0.001). Parents with high education level and higher, had a higher awareness score. 83.3% of parents mentioned at least one obvious symptom of disease and 95.2% of parents mentioned at least one of the complications. Maximum symptom mentioned was the incidence of red seeds (rush) on the face, and the most common complication noted was otitis media.
Conclusion: In this study, parents were required education and gain awareness about how to start measles symptoms, complications and treatment of disease. Therefore, it is recommended that be set regular training programs for parents about common pediatric infectious diseases by health staff.
