Abstract

Work and occupation derive from the fundamental needs to satisfy hunger and thirst, and to provide for bodily care and shelter. They have their ischolar_mains in one or more of the basic drives. In the present study stress level of employees and their work adjustment has been studied. Stress in the job may be the result of several factors: changes in life styles, breaking down of traditional expansion, increased importance of meeting work deadlines and the high level of competitiveness. Adjustment is the second factor which is studied as related to work and working conditions. There are two independent variables in this research (i) Public and Private sector employees and (ii) income of the employees. Two dependent variables are (i) stress level and (ii) work adjustment. This research has been conducted among total 80 employees, 40 from private sector and 40 from public sector These employees further divided into 20-20 as High Income Grade and Low Income Grade employees. Ex post facto research design has been used in research. To assess stress level, stress scale has been used which was developed by Dr M. Singh; and to assess adjustment, adjustment inventory has been used which was developed by Prof O.P. Misra and Dr. S.K. Srivastava. There are ten hypothesis has been developed by the researcher for research. There are significant difference has been found in work adjustment among High Income Grade and Low Income Grade employees of public sector, significant difference has been also found in the level of stress among Low Income Grade employees of public sector and Low income Grade employees of private sector.

Abstract

The present article reviews on researches on psycho-social factors contributing to superstitious behaviour and its management. In western countries so many researches has been conducted on superstition. Some researches shed some light on social and psychological factors responsible for superstitious behaviour. Psychological factors include fear, locus of control, confidence level etc. and social factors such as, locale, socio-economic status etc. management refer to the counselling to control superstitious behaviour. Superstitions exist everywhere in the world. Every country on the planet has its own local superstitions. Each country also has its own variations on common superstitions. Some of the most common superstitions have to do with cats, alcohol, and death. Most superstition from the past have been proven by science as unnecessary, ineffective orjust plan silly but are still practiced by normal intelligent people today. Around the world, there are many reappearing themes for superstition. Every country has its own localized take on each theme.Superstition is quite common in human society. For example, a huge number of newspapers and magazines carry regularly horoscopes, which indicate the high demand for reading horoscopes. Different researches touch the different aspect of superstitious behaviour in different situation. This research review article is an approach to compile these researches to shed light on all these aspects.
