A field experiment was conducted during Rabi season of 2017-2018 to study the effect of nitrogen and phosphorus on seed yield of coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.). The experiment comprising of 16 treatment combinations with four levels of nitrogen viz., 0, 20, 40 and 60 kg N ha-1and four levels of phosphorus viz., 0, 20, 40 and 60 kg P2O5 ha-1was laid out in RBD design with three replications. The experiment results revealed that the combination of 60 kg N ha-1;20 kg P2O5/hapromoted yield attributes viz., number of umbels per plant (14.27), the combination of 60 kg N ha-1;60 kg P2O5/ha promoted number of seeds per umbellate (5.96), the combination of 60 kg N ha-1 ;40 kg P2O5/ha promoted seed weight per plant (4.82 g), the combination of 40 kg N ha-1 ;40 kg P2O5/ha promoted number of umbellate per umbel (5) and ultimately higher seed yield (1469 kg ha-1) was given by combination of 60 kg N ha-1;40 kg P2O5/ ha .Keywords

The present investigations entitled “Impact of nitrogen and phosphorus on growth and seed yield of Spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.)” was carried out in experimental area of research farm of Guru Kashi Univesity, Talwandi Sabo (Bathinda) during Rabi season 2018-2019. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) keeping doses in combination with different rates of nitrogen (0, 35, 70 and 95 kg ha-1) and phosphorus (0, 15, 30 and 45 kg ha-1) on growth and seed yield of spinach. Results showed that the maximum height of plant was 84 cm, number of branches 10.94 and weight of 100 seeds was 1.30 gram was recorded with the combined application of 95 kg N ha-1 and 45 kg P2O5 ha-1. Maximum seed yield per plant 6.36 gram and seed yield 285.52 kg/ha were obtained from 95 kg N ha-1 and 0 kg P2O5 ha-1.Keywords

The present investigation “Evaluation of bottle gourd genotypes [Lagenaria siceraria (Mol.) Standl.] for various growth and yield characters” was carried out in experimental area of research farm of Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo (Bathinda) during Kharif season 2017-2018. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) comprising of 11 genotype lines with three replications of each treatment. Sowing was done in April, 2017. The observation were recorded on three randomly selected plants with respect to characters viz., number of primary branches per vine, plant height (Vine length), days to first flower, node to first flower, fruit length (cm), fruit girth (cm), fruit rind thickness (mm), fruit flesh thickness (mm), total soluble solids (TSS 0Brix), average, fruit weight (g), number of fruits per plant and fruit yield per plant (kg). From observations maximum number of branches 11.5 and maximum vine length 745.5 cm was recorded in SEL-6.Minimum days to first flowering (41 days) was recorded in SEL-9. Minimum node to first flowering 7.2, maximum breadth 16 cm was recorded in SEL-1 and maximum fruit length 35.5 cm was in SEL-5. Minimum flesh thickness 68.0 mm and maximum TSS 4.8 °B was recorded in Punjab Bahar (check variety). Maximum average fruit weight 1458.1 g was recorded in SEL-3. Maximum number of fruits per vine 13.9 and yield per vine 14.8 kg were recorded in SEL-8.Keywords

The current survey entitled, “To study the effect of GA3 on yield components of Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench) varieties” was conceded at Guru Kashi University Research Farm. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) comprising two varieties i.e. Punjab Suhawani and Punjab 8 with three replications of each treatment. Foliar spray of growth regulator GA3was spray at different concentrations (Control with water soaking of seed for 12 hrs, 25 ppm GA3, 50 ppm GA3, 75 ppm GA3 and 100 ppm GA3) 30th day after sowing. Sowing was done in April month of 2019. The observation was recorded on three randomly selected plants concerning characters viz., Days to 50% flowering (Days), Days to the first harvest (Days), Average fruit length (cm), Average fruit weight (g), Number of fruits per plant (No.) and Yield per plant (g). Results revealed that foliar spray of 100 ppm after 30 days sowing significantly gave positive effect on growth parameters i.e. 50 per cent flowering (44.20 days), first harvesting (49 days) in Punjab Suhawani variety. In yield parameter, GA3 100 ppm gave maximum fruit length (14.20 cm), fruit weight (20.06 g) by Punjab Suhawani, and a maximum number of fruit per plant (12.29) and fruit yield per plant (367.89 g) as compared to other treatment and Punjab 8 variety.Keywords
