Abstract

This descriptive research work has been undertaken in Tirunelveli city, Tamilnadu as a comparative study to identify and differentiate the sources stress and impact of stress among the receptionists working in both private multi-specialty hospitals and private single specialty hospitals. The sources of stress has been identified under two dimensions namely organization structure and processes related stressors and receptionists' specific stressors. Sampling has been done in two phases. In the first phase, the subject has been stratified into two groups: the receptionist working in private multi-specialty hospital and the receptionist working in private single specialty hospitals using stratified random sampling technique. In the second phase, 100 receptionists have been sampled from both divisions (50 respondents from private multi-specialty hospitals and 50 respondents from private single specialty hospitals) using judgement sampling technique. The study has applied mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation and Kruskal Wallis test to analyze the data. The result of the study has proved that most of the stressors discussed under the headings of organization structure and processes related stressors and receptionists' specific stressors have equally perceived by the receptionists working in both kinds of hospitals.

Abstract

This comparative study is survey based descriptive research. The objectives of this research are to identify and differentiate the factors affecting motivation in the context of organization structure and policy and pharmacy profession and also to examine and compare impact of lack of motivation on job performance of pharmacists working in single-speciality hospitals and multi-speciality hospitals in Tirunelveli city, Tamilnadu. The study has sampled 60 pharmacists using judgement sampling technique after they were stratified into two groups; namely, pharmacists working in private multi-speciality hospitals and pharmacists working in single-speciality hospitals using stratified sampling technique. Primary data have been collected by means of selfprepared questionnaires and analyzed using mean and standard deviation. The results of the study has shown that there has been no major difference in perception of majority of the pharmacists working in both kinds of hospitals towards most of the factors affecting the motivation and impact of lack of motivation on job performance and their perception level has also been at medium level.

Abstract

This descriptive research study has been undertaken in private multispeciality hospitals, Tirunelveli City, Tamil Nadu to examine the perception of nurses towards the impact of employee turnover on employee performance. The study has sampled 60 nurses qualified with Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM) and Bachelor in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) courses using judgement sampling technique. Primary data have been collected through a constructed questionnaire. Secondary data have been collected from books, journals, projects and journals. Percentage method has been applied to analyse profile of the respondents. The study has administered mean and standard deviation to understand perception of nurses towards impact of employee turnover on performance of the existing nurses. The results of the study has found that more workload for the existing employees, inability to leave the duty on time, health issues, inadequate care for the patients, conflict and dispute among the coworkers, stress, inability to take decisions on time and inability to segregate biomedical wastes are the foremost impact of employee turnover on performance of existing employees.
