The two binary systems : acetone and pyridine and aniline and pyridine at different temperatures have been studied to determine the different ultrasonic parameters. The measured values of density, ultrasonic velocity and coefficient of viscosity shows increasing trend with the increase in concentration of acetone in the mixture of pyridine. The nature of the curves of compressibility, free length, free volume show decreasing trend with that of increase in the concentration of acetone or aniline in their respective mixture. The internal pressure of both the binary mixture is found to increase with the corresponding increase in concentration of the acetone or aniline in their binary mixture. The excess values of the above parameters such as, excess velocity υE, excess adiabatic compressibility υαE, excess free length LfE, excess free volume VfE and excess internal pressure πiE have also been evaluated and the results presented graphically. The data confirms the existence of interaction between the components of the binary mixtures.Keywords

The ultrasonic velocity, density and viscosity of pure and binary liquid mixtures of N-N dimethylacetamide and acetone have been measured over the entire range of composition at temperature 313.15 K to evaluate the other thermo dynamical parameters such as adiabatic compressibility, intermolecular free length, free volume, internal pressure, relative association, Rao constant and Wada constant. The variation of these parameters with composition of the mixture was found to be useful in understanding the nature of intramolecular and intermolecular interactions of liquid systems. The non linearity found in all the plots of these thermodynamic parameters with the composition range indicates presence of the intermolecular interaction between the components of the unlike molecules of the mixture.Keywords

The molecular interaction studies in the binary liquid mixtures of two aliphatic alcohols with 1, 4-dioxane has been carried out at 308 K using ultrasonic technique. The ultrasonic velocity, density and viscosity at 308 K have been measured in the binary systems of 1, 4-dioxane and ethanol with methanol. From the experimental data, various acoustical parameters such as adiabatic compressibility (βa), intermolecular free length (Lf), free volume (Vf) and internal pressure (Πi) were calculated. It has been observed that, weak dispersive type intermolecular interactions are confirmed in the systems investigated. Dipole inducement is found to be more predominant in methanol system. The results are interpreted in terms of molecular interaction between the components of the mixtures.Keywords
