A Study on Work Life Balance of Employees Working in IT Sector in India

Today, Technology makes workers accessible around the clock. Fears of job loss incentivize longer hours. In fact, a whopping 94% of working professionals reported working more than 50 hours per week and nearly half said they worked more than 65 hours per week in a Harvard Business School survey. Work-life balance can seem like an impossible feat. When your work life and personal life are out of balance, your stress level is likely to soar.

The study is an attempt to identify how employees in IT sector achieves balance between their personal life and professional life. The study also identifies the relevance of family friends and peers contribution in maintaining the balance. The study focuses on the employees working in shifts. The study explores the difficulties faced by these employees in their professional and personal lives and individual health dues to changes in work times. The study also enlightens the efforts taken by the respective organization and their HR practices to help employees maintain balance.
