The genus Ancylotropus was erected by Cameron (1909) based on the male specimen of the type species Ancylotropus cariniscutis Cameron. This genus was treated briefly by Narendran & Sheela (1995) and Boucek (1988) and in detail by Heraty (2002). They are distributed in Palaeotropical Region through the Malagasy subregion to western Malaysia. Six species are known from all over the world of which 4 species were reported from Oriental Region including 2 species from Indian subcontinent.Full Text

Genus Calliscelio (Platygastridae: Hymenoptera) was erected by Ashmead in 1893, based on the type species Calliscelio laticintus. A total of 66 species are known globally (Johnson, 2011), out of which 10 species (Narendran and Ramesh Babu, 1996-97; Masner et al., 2009) have been recorded from the Indian Region. This paper describes yet another species of Calliscelio, namely C. rugosus, new to science. Adequate illustrations are provided and affinities with the already known species are discussed in detail.Full Text

A detailed systematic account of wasps of Kottooli and Thalassery-Dharmadam mangroves of Kerala are reported for the first time. Nineteen species of wasps (Vespidae - 16 species; Sphecidae - 3 species) were reported. The species Antepipona brunnipes brunnipes (Fabricius, 1804), A. sibilans (Cameron, 1903), Antodynerus punctatipennis (de Saussure, 1853), Apodynerus troglodytes troglodytes (de Saussure, 1855), Indodynerus capitatus Gusenleitner, 2008, Paraleptomenes miniatus mephitis (Cameron, 1901), Phimenes flavopictum (Blanchard, 1845), Ammophila clavus Fabricius, 1775 and Sphex argentatus Fabricius, 1787 are recorded for the first time from mangrove ecosystem. The species A. brunnipes brunnipes is recorded for the first time from India.Keywords

The drywood termite Cryptotermes bengalensis (Snyder, 1934) of family Kalotermitidae is reported for the first time from Nagaland. An unusual instance of association of this species along with Nasutitermes garoensis Roonwal and Chhotani and Odontotermes obesus (Rambur) of family Termitidae was observed. The occurrence of Kalotermitidae and Termitidae together in the same nest as reported in this study is quite intriguing.Keywords
