Abstract
In supplier selection process, various kinds of works had been carried out to evaluate and select the supplier. But, still there is lack of transparency between purchase managers and suppliers. Suppliers are evaluated and ranked based on the attributes such as quality, delivery, cost etc. In real world scenario, purchase managers' prioritization on the supplier selection attributes are varied from the theoretical perceptions. To expose the real condition in the supplier selection in industries, this paper has carried out a survey to know about purchase managers' actual choice of supplier in an experimental setting. Discrete Choice Analysis (DCA) tool has been used to find the actual selection of suppliers based on the supplier selection factors. Finally the actual scenario of the purchase managers' preferences had been established and further the result provides useful information for many types of strategic decisions.
