CL file generated by the processor is converted in to machine-readable file by a set of computer programs called "Postprocessor." CAD/CAM system generates a postprocessor for any CNC machine tool/system combination. Generating postprocessor for 5-axis machine tool configuration is an involved task to achieve the required result. In this paper an attempt is made to develop postprocessor for 5-axis machine configuration pertaining to a complex geometry. CAMAND/IDEAS CAD/CAM system is selected for the purpose. Procedure adopted is explained and similar approaches can be followed with other CAD/CAM systems.
