Overview of Digital Watermarking and its Techniques

With the rapid growth of Internet, the availability of the digital documents such as videos, audios, images to the public and file sharing becomes more convenient. This results to a problem of protecting information, protecting digital contents from illegal distribution. In today's digital world, digital contents can be copied and distributed quickly and easily. Watermarking has been accepted as a complementary technology for protecting information. This paper gives overview of digital watermarking, its properties, types,techniques and its applications.
