The effect of grafting on the chemical and physical properties of chitosan has been reviewed in the light their different applications i.e. biomedical, biosensor, water purification and packaging. The grafting methods and condition are discussed along with their comparative advantages and disadvantages. Further, the suitability of chitosan grafted copolymer in sensing, drug delivery, dyes removal and packaging has been described with suitable examples and illustrations.Keywords
