Abstract
Spin-lattice and spin-spin relaxation rates of oxygen-17 of water in aerosol OT reverse micelles hosting hydrophilic enzymes like peroxidase and α-chymotrypsin have been measured. It has been observed that the enzyme show maximum activity when all the water molecules present in the aqueous core are strongly bound to the micellar interface as well as enzyme surface hosted in the micelles leaving no free water domain.
