A review of three species of genus Picrorhiza Royle (Veroniceae) presented here in view of the taxonomy, ecology and phytochemistry. The prime objective of the paper is to differentiate these three species to avoid high scale adulterants in herbal industry and to use correct species for the most efficacy in the Ayurvedic system of medicine.Keywords
