Abstract
A number of R.K. Narayan studies have traced in his novels humour, irony, burlesque pattern, romantic comedy, novel of ideas and fable. The present paper undertakes to examine select novels of Narayan with reference to the different aspects of Narratology, with a special emphasis on their socio-cultural matrix.
