Colonel Brian Claughley is a soldier and a statesman. He served in the British and Australian Army for over 25 years. He was Deputy Head of the UN Mission in Kashmir 1980-82 and Australian defense Attachi in Pakistan 1989-94. He thus had an opportunity to study the political situation in Pakistan and the role played by the Pakistan Army, in detail. He could visit places and talk to people in power.
