Abstract

It is our purpose to investigate two classes of functions definedtby R. W. Murphy [3]. The class F_n of minimax functions is defined in § 2 ; this class of functions has been studied by many authors and is called the class of lattice polynomials by G. Birkhoff [1, p. 19].
