Abstract
An elongated linear belt of distinct meta-volcanic and sedimentary assemblage of low-grade metamorphism and tight folding in the Son Valley are described. The contact between the two tectonic units is marked by intense overthrusting and shear deformation. Its persistent regional trend suggests some fundamental fracture pattern across the Precambrian shield. The metavolcanic and sedimentary assemblages are characteristic of Precambrian greenstone belt in Son Valley.
