Abstract
A new occurrence of carbonatite with significant radioactivity (0.038% eU3O8) and a conspicuous fenitised zone is being reported for the first time in the western peripheral parts of the Prakasam alkaline province, Andhra Pradesh. Besides U, the carbonatite is enriched in P, Fe, Ba, Sr, Ce and Y.
