Abstract
Well preserved Ichnogenus Ophiomorpha Lundgren and Thalassinoides Ehrenberg are recorded from the Mottled Nodular Sandstone Member of the Lameta Formation. The Thalassinoides type burrows are also quite common in the Upper Limestone Member and Upper Sandstone Member. On the basis of the presence of trace fossils and primary sedimentary structures it is concluded that the Jabalpur Formation and Green Sandstone Member of the Lameta Formation are fluvial deposits.
