The paper records the occurrence of Sea Cow from the Tertiary sediments of Kutch. The mandibular fragment recovered from the ferruginous marl.beds of Chattian resembles Halitherlum reported from Europe, Africa and North America. In certain respects it is comparable to Dugong, the living genus, and it may represent a transitional form between the two. With overall consideration it is assigned Halitherium sp.- Proboscidean Teeth from the Bokabil Formation of Tripura State, India

The paper describes two fossil teeth, a third upper left and a lower true molar, of Gomphotherium which were recovered by the author from the Bokabil Formation of Tripura State.
The characters of the teeth, specially the upper one (LM3), suggest that they belong to a form intermediate between the Indian species, Gomphotherium Cooperi Osborn and Gompholherium palaeindiscus (Lydekker) Osborn. This form is comparable to Gomphotherium anqustidens Cuvier. An Upper Aquitanian to Lower Helvetian age to the Bokabil Formation is favoured.
