Palynological study has revealed the presence of Early Permian palynomorphs in Manjir Formation of Chamba Valley. Palynomorph taxa identified in the assemblage include Parasaccites, Plicatipollenites, Barakarites, Scheuringipollenites, Striatopodocarpites, Faumpollenites, Striatites and Platysaccus. These taxa show affinities with those found in Lower Gondwana (Early Permian) sediments of Indian sub-Continent.
