Ostracodes from the Jurassic Beds of Jhura Hill, Kachchh, Gujarat

Forty-nine ostracode species are recorded from the Jurassic beds of Jhura Hill, Kachchh, Gujarat. Six species -Bairdia badiensis, B. jhuraensis, Cytherelloidea badiensis, Cytheropterina agrawali, Mandawacythere chariensis and Pirileberis satyendrai - are new. Thirty-six species are assigned to the previously described taxa and seven species are left under open nomenclature. The stratigraphic distribution, age and affinity of all these ostracodes are given in the paper. Only the new species are described in detail. Brief taxonomic comments are also given on 5 of the 7 species left under open nomenclature.
