A new species of sponge spicule Nabaviella acanthomorpha is described here, which occurs in association with an assemblage of small shelly fossils (SSF) from the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary sequence, exposed in Pohru Valley of northwestern Kashmir, with an obvious biostratigraphic potential to understand the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary in the succession.
