The Continental Quaternary deposits of semi-arid central Gujarat consist of layered sequences of sediments of fluvio-marine, fluvial and aeolian origin. The deposits occupy structural depressions which are bounded by basement faults and provide an interesting record of neotectonism and climatic changes.
