Avian Eggshells from the Lower Miocene Rocks of Eastern Kutch, Gujarat

Eggshell fragments were collected from three spots a few metres apart from the Lower Miocene rocks of Eastern Kutch, Gujarat. The crystalline structure of the shells, the slender closely packed columns and horizontal layering suggest that these are of avian type and may belong to Ratites (?).
