Pyroxferroite, (Fe, Mn, Ca) SiO3, the rare manganiferous pyroxenoid, has been identified in manganese silicate - carbonate rock from the Vizianagaram manganese belt, Andhra Pradesh. Optical data and chemistry of the mineral have been presented and is compared to other occurrences.
