Abstract
This is one of the fine and informative books on Indian mollusks, especially with regard to land snails. It has 15 chapters starting with introduction and followed by the characters of shell, adaptation to habitat, feeding, reproduction, aestivation, arboreal habits, importance of snails to man and threats from snails, diversity and endemicity, collection, fixation and preservation, classification and the most important part of the book, systematic accounts. Besides, there are usual bibliography, glossary and index to species and genera allowing one to easily access the desired information readily.
