Abstract
The avian neuropeptide arginine vasotocin (AVT) originally characterized as the antidiuretic hormone is produced by neurosecretory cells within the brain. AVT synthesizing neurons in the limbic bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BnST) of chickens are sexually dimorphic and are found solely in males.
