Abstract

An attempt was made to understand the concentration of lipid in bovine urine during various reproductive phases and to correlate with testosterone profiles. The lipid content was found to be varied in the urine of all the bovine reproductive stages. The bovine urine of pre-ovulatory phase showed a remarkable decrease in lipid concentration than all other reproductive phases. Similarly, in the pregnant urine there was a decreasing trend. However, the maximum level of lipid was found throughout the lactation period with peak on early lactating when compared to that of all other reproductive stages.
