Abstract
Water is an eternal gift of the nature and is directly or indirectly connected with every activity of life on this earth. The development of human culture, even in the prehistoric period had always taken place near the natural source of water. The industrial development is not an exception. It too has to depend upon the availability of good water. The industry has always preferred a site for location in vicinity of a source of water. It is, therefore, needless to stress the importance of water for the country passing through the phase of heavy industrialization and urbanization.
