In our country, wastes are taken as wastes and we never think of possibilities of recovery from the wastes which are coming out from factories. We show it as a loss. But, in America and other developed countries, information is available on salvage practices in the industrial wastes. Many recoveries are profitable and they reduce the strength and harmful nature of sewage. Moreover, liquid industrial wastes are generally run into rivers which cause river pollution. This river pollution is surely unwanted in a civilised country. So, if we take out certain ingredients as recoveries from the liquid wastes, the sewage will loose its concentration as well as its polluting nature.- The Refuse Disposal Problem of Calcutta
