In keeping with international trends, the acceptance in recent years of Fibreglass Reinforced Plastics (FRP) in India has been encouragingly wide and varied. Uses of this most versatile engineering material range from ducting to fume stacks to tanks in chemical Industry. In the field of transport its use has extended beyond components in buses, coaches and passanger cars to sailing dingies and life-boats for ocean-going vessels to aircrafts. It is also fast catching up in the field of building industry. Translucent roof sheets, decorative building panels, furniture, sanitary-ware etc. are widely being used in modern houses.
