In water Supply Scheme there are different stages such as intake well, raw water pump and pump house, raw water rising main, treatment plant, clear water ground reservoir, clear water pump and pump house, clear water rising main, overhead service reservoir, and then distribution system. 50% cost of water supply scheme goes to the distribution system. So, economic design of a distribution system is essential but not at the cost of its service. There are many factors such as pipe sizes, staging height of the overhead reservoir, H.P. of pump, pressure surface variation in between the overhead reservoir and the terminal point. The economy of a network depends on these factors.
