Integrated Rural Development

In the past, piece meal thrusts have been made in the field of rural development. Not enough care has been given to the spatial and functional integration of various developmental programmes. Mostly planning has been at macro-level and area level plans, to exploit fully the potentials of an area, have not been attempted.
