Greater Calcutta and its Needs for Expansion

Since the opening out of the residential areas in the suburbs of Calcutta such as Ballygunge, Karya, Paikpara, and Maniktola by the Improvement Trust the people of Calcutta have gradually realised the beneficial effects of spreading outwards instead of adding to the congestion of the city, and got rid of the idiosyncracy of huddling up in one particular area to the cost of the health of its local residents.
