The emergency in which we found ourselves last quarter still continues. The eyes of the world are focussed on the military conflict in our North-Western Frontier; and efforts to bring about a cessation of hostilities are in progress. While we note with distress the general lack of understanding abroad of our country's point of view and the misplaced sympathy with those whom we consider as agressors against our sovereignty, we appreciate their desire for peace and their efforts to prevent increase of hostilities. We hope these will result in a speedy end of the conflict with an honourable agreement that will prevent further recurrence.

Abstract

The emergency in which we found ourselves last quarter still continues. The eyes of the world are focussed on the military conflict in our North-Western Frontier; and efforts to bring about a cessation of hostilities are in progress. While we note with distress the general lack of understanding abroad of our country's point of view and the misplaced sympathy with those whom we consider as agressors against our sovereignty, we appreciate their desire for peace and their efforts to prevent increase of hostilities. We hope these will result in a speedy end of the conflict with an honourable agreement that will prevent further recurrence.
