Ecological stability is of primary importance in land development and agricultural production programme. Ultimately, the food security of the nation can be achieved among other factors through ecological security. If ecological security is the foundation of food security, watershed management is the operational medium to accomplish it. It is an area approach : the area being confirmed to hydrological unit of a watershed.
