The present work investigated the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles using Aspergillus flavus. The fungus, Aspergillus flavus when challenged with silver nitrate solution accumulated silver nanoparticles in 96 hr. The biosynthesized silver nanoparticles were confirmed by visual observation and UV-Vis spectroscopy. An absorption peak at 420 nm in UV-visible spectrum corresponds to the Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) of silver nanoparticles. The silver nanoparticles were found to be spherical and rod in shape. The X-ray diffractograms and SEM analysis indicate that the silver particles are crystalline in nature. From SEM images grain size of silver nanoparticles is ranging from 30 nm to 48.2 nm.
