In cultivation of button mushroom [Agaricus bisporus (Lange) Imbach], casing layer that is nutritionally deficient to compost is believed to trigger the fruit body formation and this is conducted by the bacterial community residing in casing layer. Therefore, relationship between different concentrations (1 x 104, 1 x 106, 1 x 108, 1 x 1010, 1 x 1012) of bacterial inoculants (Pseudomonas putida) and yield of Agaricus bisporus were determined. Available data showed a significant difference in yield in respect to concentration of bacterial inoculant added. In addition, concentration 1x 108cfu/ml was found to be high yielding concentration, which took minimum case run period together with higher biological efficiency compared to other.Keywords

An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of bio agents (Trichoderma harzianum and Pseudomonas fluorescens) and fungicides (mancozeb) against earlyblight of tomato caused by Alternaria solani (Ell. and Mart.) at the experimental field of Department of Plant Protection, Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Allahabad during Rabi Season (2013-2014). Seven treatments including control with three replications were taken up using RBD. The treatments comprised of seed treatment and foliar spray (once and twice) of bio-agents Trichoderma harzianum and Pseudomonas fluorescens while fungicide taken up was mancozeband Control (spray of plain water) was applied. Observation for percent disease intensity was recorded at 70, 90 and 105 days after transplanting. Minimum disease intensity was recorded in mancozeb with twofoliar spray (15.43%, 17.90% and 20.47%, respectively) as compared to control which recorded maximum disease intensity (25.50%, 33.47%, and 48.73%, respectively).The bio agents Trichoderma harzianum and Pseudomonas fluorescens (seed treatment + two foliar spray) were also effective in reducing the disease intensity.Keywords

An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of bio agents (Trichoderma harzianum and Pseudomonas fluorescens) and fungicides (mancozeb) against early blight of potato caused by Alternariasolani (Ell. and Mart.) at the experimental field of Department of Plant Protection, Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Allahabad during Rabi Season of 2013-2014. Seven treatment including control with three replications were taken up using RBD. The treatments comprised of seed treatment and foliar spray (once and twice) of bio agents Trichoderma harzianum and Pseudomonas fluorescens while fungicide taken up was mancozeb and control (spray of plain water) was applied. Observation for per cent disease intensity was recorded at 60 and 80 days after sowing. Lowest disease intensity was recorded in mancozeb (15.07% and 18.40%, respectively) as compared to control which recorded highest disease intensity (20.91% and 33.80%, respectively).Mancozeb not only reduced disease intensity but also recorded highest yield (253.00 q/ha) as compared to control which recorded 157.83 q/ha.The bio agents Trichoderma harzianum and Pseudomonas fluorescens (seed treatment +foliar spray) were also effective in reducing the disease intensity and increasing tuber yield.Keywords

The investigation was conducted with 8 Treatments:- Dimethoate 30 EC @ 0.03 per cent, Abamectin 1.8 EC @ 0.003 per cent, Spinosad 45 SC @ 0.03 per cent, Acetamiprid 20 SP @ 0.04 per cent, Imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 0.005 per cent,Neem oil 2 per cent, NSKE 5 per cent and control (water spray) on citrus leaf minor. Such treatments were arranged in statistical design RBD with three replications. In overall, cumulative effect of 3 applications of all the treatments T5 Abamectin 1.8 EC (0.003%) recorded lowest (7.66%) leaves infestation of leaf minor and found at par with T2 Spinosad 45 SC (0.03%) i.e.8.42 per cent leaf infested. The next best effective treatments, T4 Acetamiprid 20 SP (0.04%), T3 Imidacloprid 17.8 SL (0.005%), T1 Dimethoate 30 per cent (0.03%), T6 Neem oil (2%) and T7 NSKE (5%) with infestesion of 9.37 per cent, 10.46 per cent,13.08 per cent, 14.63 per cent and 15.21 per cent, respectively and these treatments groups were at par with each other. Maximum infestation of leaf minor was noticed in control (water spray) is 24.75 per cent.Keywords
