Abstract

The book is already familiar to students and workers in Horticulture in India. It covers six of the major small fruit crops, viz., grapes strawberries, brambles, currents, blueberries and craneberries. Excepting grapes and to some extent strawberries, the other fruits are not cultivated extensively in India. The information given in respect of grapes and strawberries, however, is adequate for students of Pomology.

Abstract

The first volume of the "Proceedings of the Second International Symposium on Tropical Root and Tuber Crops" sponsored by the College of Tropical Agriculture University of Hawaii, Honolulu, Hawaii, deals with sweet potato, cassava, yam, taro, potato and aroids. This volume throws light on some of the fundamental aspects such as growth and development, tuberization, nutrition, problems and prospects in the genetic improvement and also the industrial aspects of these crops.
