Abstract
Good health is of paramount importance for every individual. The intake of appropriate and adequate food and their effective utilization by the human body is seen as the cornerstone of human growth and development. Several studies reveal that under-nutrition and malnutrition are widely prevalent in our country, especially in rural areas among women and children while poverty, ignorance and illiteracy are identified as major causes responsible for this situation.
