Abstract
Ideal food for prevention and control of Imbalanced nutrition should be of high nutritive value, acceptable , readily available at low price, familiar to the community and have good tolerance both in illness and good health. Consumers are looking for variety in their diets, and are aware of the health benefits of value addition to foods with fresh fruits, vegetables, greens and herbs as locally available resources. Of special interest are food sources rich in antioxidants, vitamins, calcium, iron and crude fibre.
