Abstract

Feeding of choline deficient diet results in the accumulation of lipids in the liver of rats. Constituents of french wine having a hypocholesterolemic action were studied by Masquelier et al. The presence of small amount of epicatechin in the wine contributes to the hypocholesterolemic action.

Everyone in India is familiar with katha, the dried water extract of Acacia catechu. Katha is a well-known article of commerce being widely used as an adjunct of "Pan", which is commonly chewed by people all over India.
